What a weekend!!!!

Man oh man have I had a busy weekend!
I met soooo many awesome new navy wives! I'm loving having new friends!!!!
Friday night was Chuck's birthday party (Liz's husband) where I first met all the lovely new ladies.

From left to right: Liz, Me, Margaret, Bree, Lauren

Top left to right: Sherry, Tanisha
Bottom left to right: Bianca, Olivia, Willow
We had a great time getting to know each other, drinking, eating, and just hanging out!

Saturday we all made reservations at Williamsburg Alewerks to take a tour of the brewery and sample all of their beers they have available. I don't usually like Ale, but some of them were pretty tasty!

After the tour Liz, Lauren, Bree, and I went to Platos Closet for a little bit of shopping then came back to Janell's to play some Bunco with the rest of the girls!
Overall this weekend was a blast! I look forward to many more hangouts and get-togethers with my new friends!

Now for my photo challenges Day 2 and 3 since I haven't blogged this whole weekend.

Day 2: A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest.
Andy and I have been friends since 4th grade. She has had my back ever since then, and continues to be there for me to this very day! I love her so much!

Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss

Day 1:

A picture of yourself with ten interesting facts.

1. I played Varsity Golf in high school. I miss it so much!
2. I absolutely LOVE Christian hardcore/screamo music. One day I will probably dedicate a post just to getting the word out on how dedicated to praising God these bands truly are. No one really notices over all the screaming, but they really do sing meaningful lyrics. ;)
3.  I love the dog pictured above. She sleeps WAY too much, and is kind of a real spaztastic pooch... but my husband and I wouldn't trade her for any doggie in that window!
4. Got 1 niece and 3 nephews, and I miss them terribly. It's hard being so far away for that reason. FAMILY.
5. I love fried chicken and sweet tea. Chicken Express has both, and I miss being able to go down the street and get that in Texas.
6. You know the saying "Save Water, Shower with a Sailor"? I do it EVERYDAY he's home.
7. I can't do a cartwheel, and I also can't dance.
8. I am a natural brunette, but I have SO MANY blonde moments!
9. Lived in a small town. Met my husband at the pharmacy I worked at, and if it wasn't for him and I getting married, I'd probably still be stuck there until the day I died.

10. My husband is my best friend. I know a lot of people say that, but I didn't have many friends when I married him, let alone a BEST. I had just gotten over my previous boyfriend passing away, and he was there to listen and be there for me during the relationship. He truly was the only one I could count on to be there besides family.
That's what I love about him. He took the time I needed to GROW as a person and then we worked on our relationship afterward.

So that's it for today's photo challenge!
Hope you enjoyed it. You can snag it for yourself and join in on the fun!

What I'm feeling this lovely Thursday morning!

This song makes me think of my husband.
I was singing it while he was sleeping (so I thought) one night while driving on our way back from Texas, and he would make agreeing sounds with Blake each time a part came up that he thought had to do with me. Like when he said "well I've not tasted all your cookin", my husband just kind of laughed.
I just smiled and kept singing. :)

I'm also really itchin to play some Black Ops with my hubby.
I can't wait until he gets home so we can blow stuff up together. That's real love right there! haha. kidding.

I've wanted a pair of Miss Me's for awhile now but there is no way I'm spending 98-100 dollars on a pair!!!
BUT I WANT THEM BAD!
I have no butt, so they'd make it look extra special. ;)
I have a couple pairs of Silver Jeans which isn't too far off (68-72 dollars, but they're always on sale!)

I have an appointment this morning with the neurologist. He's gonna try to find a better medicine for these migraines of mine. Hopefully he does. We've been doing trial and error for over 6 months now!

Well ya'll have a wonderful day!

Car Crash

I had a horrible dream last night where my husband was driving us to a destination, and we fell off a bridge into the water below. What made it so scary was my husband was just not himself. He was swerving the car back and forth trying to scare me, and I told him to stop and he wouldn't. It's almost like he got enjoyment out of seeing me distraught over it. He just wouldn't stop, and he kept getting closer and closer to the edge of the barriers on the side of the bridge each time he would swerve. I closed my eyes and prayed to God that he would make him stop, but I could see it wasn't my husband sitting it that front seat anymore. All of the sudden we were flying off the bridge, and in mid-air on our descent into the icy water below. I looked at my husband and I told him I loved him and braced myself for impact, then I woke.

I researched dreaming of falling off of a bridge from your car into water and found a few things, but I really wanted to find something that had to do with why my husband would have been driving. I couldn't find anything. If anyone finds anything please let me know. :)

On a better note, I scheduled my appointment with Amanda from Fleet and Family services.
I'll be meeting with her tomorrow. Yayyayyayyay!!!!
Things are finally falling into place!
My birthday is next month as well. For Christmas the hubby got me a James Avery charm bracelet, and I hope to add a few charms to that bracelet this coming up birthday.

Here's my bracelet:
A key to his heart, and an anchor!

These are the charms on my wish list:
the I love you because it's too cute, the peanut because my dad called me that when I was little,
and the rifle charm because I shot my first one with my husband while on Christmas leave in Oklahoma...

so there ya have it! my not so nice dream, my plans for tomorrow, and my wish list for my birthday!

Good Weekend

The weekend with Brittney was so fun!

On Saturday we ate at Uno Chicago Grill

shopped at Victoria Secret's semi annual sale

and watched Black Swan.

(which by the way, was awesome!)
(there were some pretty intense scenes in the movie, but overall well worth my ten dollars!)

After the movie we were so exhausted we came home and stayed up talking for a bit but ended up crashing shortly after.
We slept in and got up to make coffee and some breakfast then watched a little Jersey Shore!!! ;)
Brittney had never been to Five Guys burgers and I didn't want to deprive her of that awesomeness any longer, so we went there for lunch and she loved it... but seriously who wouldn't?!?
We came back to her place to just relax and watch Wedding Crashers. I hadn't seen that movie in sooo long and forgot how funny it was!
I left after the movie to come home with Lexie dog, and boy was she ready to go! lol
Brittney's dog Tulip is so much smaller than Lexie (but they are both chihuahuas) and Lexie wanted to play with Tulip but she was so afraid of this bigger dog she just sat on the couch the whole time. Lexie was so bored. She was stealing Tulip's toys to keep busy, and trying to nip at her to get her to play.
It was just too funny.
The hubby called shortly after I got home and we got to talk for a bit about my weekend! It made him feel better that I wasn't just sitting at the house while he is away.
My agenda for today is to go find some black pants to wear to the meeting with the lady from Fleet and Family services. Since losing weight I have yet to buy a lot of new clothes, and I really want to look nice for this.
Hope everyone has a good MLK day! Enjoy the day off those of you that get it!

Getting Out!

Lexie dog and I are going stir crazy in this house!
So tonight we planned a little sleepover with the lovely Brittney from:
We are going to dinner, doing a little shopping, and seeing Black Swan!
I need this day out.
With the hubby being away doing his school for the Navy, I'm losing it.
It's not that I don't feel comfortable with him leaving or anything, because he's done it a million times and I'm used to it, but with all these ships deploying right now, a lot of my friends have moved back to their hometowns until deployments are over, and I really don't have the friends I once hung out with to keep myself busy.
Brittney works ALOT otherwise I'd probably be bugging her terribly. lol
BUT! I am going to Fleet and Family services next week and giving them my resume, so hopefully I won't have to sit here and try and find things to do. ;)
I worked back in Texas at a pharmacy as a tech trainee, but laws here where I live are different when it comes to training.
The mister also wants me to try and get a job where I work days only and weekends off so we have time together, as well as trying to find something on base.
We'll see how everything pans out. For now I'm going to enjoy my night out, and not worry about anything stressing me out.
Hope everyone has a great weekend

Sponsor's Social Please?

The words we as military dependents are all too familiar with...

I was at my appointment with my not so nice PCM this morning when I decided I'd had enough of this lady. I've been dealing with her for over a year and a half now and today was my breaking point. She finally pushed enough of my buttons telling me what to do with my life, and how I'm too "young" to do this and that.
She also is just not a very good doctor. I mean seriously, what relevance does your tattoos on your body have with mine and my husband's ability to get pregnant?
"Oh! I went to a tattoo party this weekend!"
"Yeah, that's nice.
Now can you figure out what's wrong with my uterus please?"
As tears were swelling up in my eyes I politely told her I needed a new doctor because I was not going to be seeing her anymore. She rudely told me that the Health Benefits office is right down the hallway, and that I needed to see myself out.
I was livid by this point.
Not a very smart decision on her part because I hold the power to file a complaint against her if I see fit.
(I sure am glad Joshua is away though, or he would be giving her a piece of his mind right about now.)
So I promptly make my way to the office and begin telling my side of the story, when two 2nd class Petty Officers walk in to document everything I am saying.
After I'm done telling them everything she has EVER said to me... from "you're to young to have kids" to "some people just have really really irregular cycles, there's no need to look into that or anything"
(there was more said but we'll not go into all of that)
they tell me that they're on my side, and are shocked to believe a woman of her stature would be so rude and unprofessional.
The health benefits advisor helps me find a new PCM
(which might I add, she proceeds to tell me the lady has a very nice "country" accent) :p
I really dislike Tricare sometimes, but other times they are kind of easy to handle.
I really hope it doesn't get tossed around that I'm a nuisance to deal with in that office or anything.
That lady was just awful. Ugghhh. Worst day ever. Hurry home my sweet. <3

My New Years Declaration

I've rarely ever given myself  "new years resolutions" in the past, because it's always been me dreaming of losing weight. There's no need to do that this year because from the time I've been married up until now, I've lost a total combined weight of 35 pounds. I'm just gonna go ahead and pat myself on the back right now, because I really don't give myself enough credit for that. Every other Negative Nancy I come into contact with never once saying congratulations to me. Except for the ones that support and love me! :)

Before: November 2009  169 lbs
 After: July 2010  134 lbs

So what do I need to prove to myself and work on?

Well as someone married, here's the first thing:
1. I don't care how "happily married" you are, there is always room for improvement.
 2. Getting back into church, and finding God the way I once knew him. That ties in with the marriage thing. He will help a lot with our relationship.
3. Learning better patience with myself and everyone around me.
4. Finding myself a decent part time job that will work around my husband's navy schedule so I can spend evenings with him at home.
6. Buy a pistol and take some shooting classes.
7. Get better at video games so I can beat Joshua. ;)
8. Make new friends.

Those are just some on my list, but I would really like to attend a church with Joshua.
That's been heavy on my heart for quite sometime now.

What are some of your New Years declarations to yourself?

My brain can't take all these ideas floating around. Must move forward.

Does anyone else get a project started and then finds something completely different that they want to try and it kind of sidetracks them for just a little while?
That's definitely me!
The Hexie Caddy is coming along, but I get sidetracked when I see all these other tutorials, and I'm thinking, "Oh I need to try that!"
All these fun little crafts are just so darn cute, I can't even wrap my brain around the fact that I actually have to finish one to move onto the next one. DUHH!

I recently made a ACU fabric wreath for my mother as a Christmas gift and that was such a fun project. My brother is overseas right now serving a tour for the U.S Army, and my mom was very upset that he could not spend the Holidays with us. I wanted to give her a little something to let her know that even though he wasn't with us, he was missed this holiday season.

Here it is:

I was searching some other blogs this morning and stumbled upon something similar to this wreath but instead you take the fabric and glue it to an ornament. Her's is done with burlap, but you could easily change it to ACU's or BDU's to make it for a military family. How fun would that be to make military fabric ornaments for family members of the deployed soldiers around Christmastime.
Here is the link for anyone who wants to try this one.

Who will kill infidels with me?

The mister and I have been playing massive amounts of Call of Duty Black Ops lately, and I must say, I'm getting pretty darn good. He's been customizing my profile for me and getting my guns just the way I like them, because he's been playing longer so he knows what guns are best at handling. lol. The lady upstairs must think we're crazy though because here I am screaming at the t.v. screen, "Grenade, Grenade!!!"
Anyway, I really think that playing games together has benefited our relationship.
We were in bed last night and we were talking about how he is about to leave to go to Craftmaster schooling for the Navy here soon. We were having so much fun last night, I turned to him and made the joke, "but who will kill the infidels with me while you're away?"

Hexie Caddy

I'm attempting to make a Hexie Caddy out of some scraps I have lying around, and it has become quite the little project. I figured it would just be whipping one of these little bad boys together, but I have proven myself quite wrong, especially with hand-stitching. Hopefully I will have the motivation to finish, because it is turning into a very cute little pincushion. Yaayyy!!!!
I found the project here for my fellow craftsters who like to sew:
