Last nights news

You were probably either interrupted with a speech during The Apprentice, on Facebook, or in your bed sleeping... but Osama bin Laden is no more.

All of America is rejoicing at that fact right now and I am, at this very moment, very happy to be married to someone that serves this country willingly.
My heart swells with pride in the fact that I am a U.S Navy wife and an Army sister!

I'm not going to go into politics or things of the like, because the only thing I care about right now is the fact that justice is served to the families of those affected by 9/11, and that for one night  ALL Americans seemed to be proud of where they come from.

Thank you for everyone who has served in the past and those currently serving now, here or overseas.
We appreciate all you do for this great Nation.

I saw this morning the ten greatest Tweets (according to source) sent in by celebrities about last nights news and just have to share them with you!

Here goes:

My personal favorite is Snoop's. What's yours?

Much needed girl time!

This weekend has been amazing!
I couldn't imagine a better way to get my mind off my husband leaving.
The Mister left for his underway last week and because we have no international cell phone plan, I have yet to receive emails or phone calls.
I'm sure he's fine, I just really hope when he gets a chance he finds a phone to call me on.
If it wasn't for Brittney getting me out of this house I probably would have gone stir crazy!

Friday night I went over to her house and we had some yummy Papa John's and just read blogs and talked!
Saturday night we had planned on going to dinner and then the mall, but we stayed at the Mexican restaurant we were at for over 3 hours and the mall had already closed!!!
The manager had sent Brittney and I free drinks to our table. (:
Must have been because our new outfits were just so cute! tehehe.
He sent 2 shots and 2 margaritas... on top of the margaritas we already had!
We were feeling pretty good by the time we left!

The manager asked us if we were going to stay because the restaurant has a DJ and dancing after 10, but that would mean we would have been there for over 4 hours so we decided to leave!
We came home and Brittney stayed the night, then we got up this morning and ran some errands and got our shop on!

I also am obsessed with these new sandals I got! Eeeekkk!!!!

I've been painting my nails ALL the time now!
I have the new black shatter which I'm officially obsessed with!

I swear hanging out with Brittney has brought out my inner girl.
I will embrace it! Lol.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.
The only thing that would make mine better would be to get a phone call from my love letting me know he's made it to his destination safe and sound. (:

What's My Song? "For The First Time"

I'm in LOVE with this song right now! It provides a great message.
Even when times are hard you can still push through and make something of the situation.
Just make the best of everything you have.

I'm a day late in the link up, but I just had to get in on the fun!
What was your song this week?

Be sure to link up every Thursday over at Goodnight Moon!

All Dressed Up

This is the first time I'll be participating in All Dressed Up and I'm so excited about it!
I never really dress girly... EVER!
The cutest you'll see my in on a daily basis is a knit top and some jeans.
I didn't post about my weekend, but it was my friend Brittney's birthday from over at:
I posted this link because here you can find pictures and a tell all of everything we did!
While we were at the mall we stopped at Aeropostale because everything was 50% off and I found this cute little skirt.
Now me being the Not-So-Girly-Girl, I was apprehensive, but Britt told me to try it on and it actually looked really cute so I went ahead and got it!
Tops: Forever 21
Skirt: Aeropostale
Sandals: Kohls
Accesories: Forever 21

I'm sort of liking my newly found inner girl. I think the Mister does too!
Go link up at No Model Lady and show us what you're wearing!

Humble Pie

Some people just need a slice.
There are actually people out there that think that their marriages are perfect!
Perfect? Yes. It's sad but true.
Everyone has that one friend that thinks her marriage is untouchable.
Whether you choose to admit it or not on your blog (your choice) ALL couples have tiffs and arguments. EVERY SINGLE ONE!
Personal lives are personal, and if you choose to share every ounce of detail with the world, barely scratch the surface, or keep everything bottled up for only you and your spouse is your choice, but people that sit there and say that their lives are perfect and then criticize others for actually expressing how they feel?
Um, I think not. Just do us all a favor and don't say anything at all.

Writing my post the other day about mine and my husband's little spackle actually helped to relieve stress on my part and I have no regrets on doing so. We are back to our normal little everyday lives.
No our marriage isn't perfect, but that's what is gonna make our relationship last.
Communication and Dedication to making it work.
If I had a marriage where I never argued or disagreed with the person I loved, what does that tell me?
First off, either party doesn't want to put in the effort to even bother with one another or trying to solve the problem at hand (because there will ALWAYS be problems, one time or another)
so they just go along with everyday life brushing the problem under the rug.
But therein lies the problem of thinking your marriage is perfect, in all actuality... it's everything but.

I work hard at my marriage. Blood, sweat, and tears if you will.
(well not really blood and sweat, but you get my point.)
They say the first two years are the hardest because you are just getting to know one another and whoever thought that up is exactly right. We're coming up on our two year anniversary in July and there are still SO many things I have yet to figure out about the Mister.
That's the beauty of it all though... no matter how many nights we are up working out our differences and then "making up", I wouldn't take back one single argument or tear because it has made us that much stronger.

My frontier hero and my weekend

Ree Drummond. You are my hero. You seriously have made my dinner meals a cinch.
Last nights supper was so simple, yet ohhh so good!!!!

If you have not visited this woman's blog and you like good ol' southern cookin', please...
by all means be my guest and head on over there! She also has pastas and salads too. She likes to call those "cowgirl food" and all the meats "cowboy food". The Mister and I like the Cowboy side of things. ;)

Here's her link:

This is what we had last night for dinner.

We also made Garlic Toast.
Having nights like this just brings me back home. To Texas.
That's why I love her. BBQ chicken, Pulled pork sandwiches, steak, chicken fry, you name it...
she's got a recipe for it!

So if you don't know what to cook one night and your in the mood for something amazing, check out her bloggy blog!

I also wanted to take the time to post a few pictures of my fabulous weekend this past week with my real life friend (and blog friend) Brittney, my hubby, and our pup Ajax.
We went to Taste Unlimited, a little sandwich a gift shop right down by the beach we had never been to, then took Ajax to play and have fun on the beach.

Ajax and the Mister eating outside of Taste.

  Playing in the water.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Brittney's birthday is this weekend so we are going to celebrate by watching "Water for Elephants" and have a few drinks.

...between a rock and a hard place...

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

It's usually hard for me to write my problems on blogger.
I guess I live in this fantasy world where I expect everyone to think problems never arise, or better yet, maybe they don't want to here about mine because they have their own to deal with.
Isn't that what a blogs for though?
I mean I've had this thing for a couple months now and I tend to just skim the border on issues I'm having, never asking for advice.
I sit down my pride and I'm asking for advice.
I know I don't have many followers,
(and I thank every single one of you that are a follower!!!)
so the input might not be as great as I'd hoped, but I'd really like some advice.

Here starts my story:

I know people get complacent in their marriages and I feel like the Mister and I are definitely two of those people. Things have changed majorly and I can't help but reminisce upon the days of our engagement, or even our first couple months of marriage. I knew my husband before he joined the Navy. We had actually went out on a few dates in High School and he was such a different person. It never really went anywhere and he went off to join up, and I didn't hear from him and never kept in contact either. I started working in my hometown and for his leave three years later he just so happens to come to my work and need something. We catch up and decide to go out on a date that night. The rest from there is, well ya know...
My point is, I saw the way my husband was BEFORE the Navy (even if we weren't together) and the way he acts NOW.
I hate to say this, but I can't help but think that the cause of the majority of our problems all spring back to the military and the way he was trained to be a leader, have no remorse, hide your emotions, etc.etc.
Here in lies the problem of anger as well.
I know most men deal with that, but my husband really struggles with it
(also thinking stress from work can be causing this.)

I just don't know what to do anymore...
I've tried to mention counseling, but it goes on their record and could potentially lead to a bad evaluation on an upcoming promotion.
We tried the Love Dare, but it quickly fell flat.
I wanted to try church, but every time Sunday rolls around we just don't get around to it.

With all of this being said, I love my husband and I would go to the ends of the earth for this man, but I can't help but feel that we have forgotten what a husband and wife are to each other.
When the days are good they're great, but when they're bad, they're bad.
There have just been little problems lately that keep building up and I don't know what to do to make things better. I've been majorly depressed for the past 6 months because of it.
Maybe I was depressed before and that is what caused this. I'm not saying it's all his fault by any means.
I am guilty too. They're have been plenty of times where I could have just been quiet and held my tongue instead of instigating a situation to where it escalated into an argument.
There is a scripture at the top of this post. 1 Corinthians... I try to remember everything that verse says and live by it, but sometimes we get so caught up in our own little world, we forget how much we can actually hurt someone by not respecting them and loving them.

The Mister is going underway here VERY soon, so maybe this break will give us just enough time to clear our heads for awhile.
